Description
Nepal's legendary rock band, 1974 AD, returns to London for an emotional and powerful concert event, 'Purpose,' dedicated to the healing and rebuilding of their homeland following the recent Gen Z protests.
For three decades, 1974 AD has been the voice of a generation, blending blues-rock, folk, and jazz fusion into anthems of patriotism, love, and social consciousness. With hit songs like "Parelima," "Sambodhan," and "Yo Mann Ta Mero Nepali Ho," their music has always resonated with the heart and soul of the Nepali people, both at home and abroad.
In the wake of the transformative and turbulent events of the September 2025 Gen Z protests—which saw an unprecedented youth movement call for government accountability and transparency—Nepal is embarking on a period of profound rebuilding. The protests, which were marked by significant unrest, resulted in tragic loss and damage to public property.
This special performance in London is more than just a concert; it is a musical declaration of solidarity and hope. The 'Purpose' event aims to harness the unifying power of music to contribute to the nation's recovery. Proceeds from the evening will be dedicated to two vital causes:
Rebuilding Nepal: Financial support for the reconstruction and normalization efforts in communities and institutions affected by the recent unrest.
Victim Support: Direct financial assistance for those who were injured or lost loved ones during the protests.
Join Adrian Pradhan, Phiroj Shyangden, Nirakar Yakthumba, Manose Singh, and Manoj Kumar KC for a night of timeless classics and new music. Let the legendary sound of 1974 AD be the rhythm that helps to heal, unite, and inspire a brighter future for Nepal. This is your chance to stand with the Nepali community and make a lasting impact.
Be a part of the purpose. Be a part of the change.
Booking fees include a £2.25 venue restoration levy per ticket.
