About Start Making Sense: Talking Heads Tribute
Website | Facebook | Instagram | YouTube
If David Byrne is one of the geniuses of modern times, then Start Making Sense is a tribute to genius. The musicians in this 7-piece Talking Heads Tribute take pride in faithfully recreating the music of Talking Heads entire career, including songs Talking Heads never performed live! Together they bring much of the Heads unique live show to the stage, with front man Jon Braun as a spot-on David Byrne, some have said this is the closest thing you’ll get to seeing Talking Heads again.
About The Groove Merchants
Website | Facebook | Instagram | X (Twitter) | YouTube | Spotify
Fueled with howling vocals from frontman Tye Vallone, driven by Luke Ferracone’s guitar work, and insured through swelling organ and focused horn sounds with a hustling backbeat from bassist John Evin Groome and Peter Snyder on drums, the band twists in elements of blues, funk, soul and rock resulting in a revival of authentic performance. The band has been pushing this sound forward since it was crafted in 2012 during its members’ mutual time spent at Kutztown University. Throughout the bands seven-year history, they have evolved from performing in Kutztown art galleries to playing close to 100 dates annually, including Musikfest - the countries largest free music festival - six years running, and iHeartRadio’s Summer Block Party in 2017, and the historic Sellersville Theater opening for the likes of Vance Joy, Portugal. The Man, and Sister Sparrow and the Dirty Birds among many others. Released in March of 2020, the band’s third studio album, “The Throne” showcases the evolution of the signature GM sound. During the pandemic, the band released its first ever Live EP, “Live at Morgan Creek” which utilizes organ, a powerful horn section, and backup vocalists, and includes three original tracks from “The Throne” and one cover and has been featured on WXPN and in Philadelphia Weekly. Once The Groove Merchants show up, expect relentless, soulful energy and a belief in connecting beyond music.
