April Magazine combines the talents of a handful of Bay Area indie pop notables into a collective that releases fragile and noisy songs that land right in the sweet spot between Velvet Underground hum and Pastels warble with a heavy dose of slowcore static in the mix.
Pink Breath of Heaven is the sonic vision of Liv Field and Rex John Shelverton (Tamaryn), weaving lush shoegaze textures with the vivid dynamism of modern psychedelia. After their breakout single “Blue Is the Morning,” the band carved out a sound that ranges from intimate slow-burners to towering walls of sound—an immersive experience that stays with you. With their debut album Colors Make a Sound, released in 2025 on Little Cloud Records, PBOH has cemented its place as a luminous force in San Francisco’s evolving underground.
Silent Pictures was founded in 2010 by Alexander Mann who started writing & recording in the early 90's through 2000's in the San Francisco Bay Area music scene with bands; Ozean, Your Precious You, Mellow Drunk & Boyskout. By the release of Silent Pictures 1st full length LP “Under Exposed” in 2013, both drummer Dave Conrad (The Odd Numbers ) & guitarist Jafar Green had joined the band. Silent Pictures 2nd LP “Let It Begin” was released in 2016 with a roster of noteworthy producers & engineers such as Dave Schiffman (Tom Petty) Joe Foster (The Jesus and Mary Chain) John Fryer (Cocteau Twins, Depeche Mode). The band then approached Peter Dosanjh of In Letter Form to join on bass to solidify the lineup. After some critical acclaim, several shows & festival appearances opening for Dinosaur Jr., The Kills, The Dandy Warhols, Moon Duo, Teenage Fanclub, Ringo Deathstarr, Dead Meadow, Lumerians, Little Barrie, Sloan, Alan Parsons, Cat Power; then Silent Pictures began releasing new singles starting in 2020 for “Daydreams & Delusions” the 3rd LP currently only on Bandcamp as of 2025. Silent Pictures sound has been described as a mélange of shoegaze influences as well as Roxy Music “Beachy reverb-jangle”- Deli SF “Bay Area outfit Silent Pictures channel David Bowie, Roxy Music, The Psychedelic Furs, The London Suede and Blur with aplomb and then some.”- Power of Pop
