El big city life de Smerz pren vida a l'escenari a través de melodies de piano amb un sol dit, presets de cordes, percussions i veus en directe - tot explicant històries viscudes i imaginades. Smerz és el duo noruec format per Henriette Motzfeldt i Catharina Stoltenberg, itinerants entre Oslo i Copenhaguen. El passsat 23 de maig el duo va publicar el seu segon àlbum, Big city life, a través del segell danès Escho. Utilitzant collages per capturar moments de la vida quotidiana i dels somnis, Smerz explica històries d’amor, apatia, solitud i amistat. The pair operates at the intersection of genres, drawing inspiration from compositional techniques in classical music, the experimentation of computer music and the immediacy of pop music, all in the palettes of girly existentialism.
