880 South - Live in Concert
with Special Guests: Waiting For Dani, Cole Throne
As a pioneering artist in the emerging California reggae-rock genre, their fan-collective spreads from the US to international audiences of Japan, Australia, the United Kingdom, South America and Brazil. They have opened for and toured with bands like The Expendables, Slightly Stoopid, The Holdup, Rebelution, Iration, Insolence & Fishbone. Loyal fanatics have dubbed them as “Reggae On Steroids”.
In 1998, the origin of 880 South came from the ashes of a once boisterous Cactus Club alt-rock scene in Northern California. Originally known as the Floppy Rods, they transformed their funk-laden sound in 2002 and became 880 South. Classic Rock, Soul & Reggae are the common denominators in this musical math concoction. However it is the Motown and Hip-Hop influence reinforced by groove rhythms and pocket-funk theory that complete the equation. As one of the first genre-bending bands that skillfully blends the softer subtleties of funk, reggae and soul all while infusing it with a heart-hitting rock pulse that sculpts their alt-rock DNA. Their uncensored, witty lyrics explore the ups and downs of the blue-collar American lifestyle, offering a refreshing take on life's struggles and triumphs.
880 South's discography includes two full-length albums, "Beware" and "Youth Bus Sessions," available on iTunes. Their latest singles, "Puzzles” & “Never Been” were mixed, mastered, and produced by Adam Patterson of The Expendables, is a testament to their continuous musical evolution.

The Black Buzzard at Oskar Blues Denver is a music venue born out of a drink and a conversation about the old Denver music scene. Created by Kellner Schoenke at their Longmont restaurant, The Black Buzzard drink fused bacon-infused bourbon and ten fidy imperial stout. Chef and Oskar Blues fooderies partner, Jason Rogers, shared a sip with Kellner, and they realized they had both frequented the same closed blues bar on 16th and Market Street, Brendan's. Years later, Brendan's became available, and it seemed like the perfect time to put some music back into the heart of LoDo. They named the venue after the drink that started it all. Today, located blocks away from Coors Field and Union Station, The Black Buzzard at Oskar Blues Denver hosts buzz-worthy musicians of all genres from Denver and beyond.
